Groundfire Counselling & Community Work is Ev’s most recent 'all-in’ project as the Immovable Object in tandem to Emily’s Unstoppable Force. You can usually find them in conversation with community members or practitioners, or behind the scenes building and updating sustainable systems, collecting resources, and assisting with workshops, groups, and community projects.
Evren has had the honour and privilege of working with folks within their community since 2018, including under their solo practice, E. E. Salja Counselling. They are thrilled to be able to co-create and offer more options and supports by and for community under Groundfire.

Approach
Narrative, Informal, Nerdy
Evren’s approach is also closely aligned with and informed by abolition work, anti-capitalist work, disability justice, and resistance to and rejection of the colonial state, which dovetails nicely with much of narrative practice.
Areas of particular familiarity
Some things I have particular familiarity with or lived experience in/near include:
building and navigating sustainable systems, relationships, and community
strategy and ‘sneaky’ ways of survival and thriving in difficult times
neurospicy ways of being in the world
considering, or getting creative with (or retiring from) gender, sexuality, and relationships
supporting chronic illness and masking in a “post-COVID” world
science (but like, Madame Razz/Eda the Owl Lady style)
collectivist cultures and family dynamics

I live and practice from unceded (stolen) ancestral land of the Tk’emlúps te Secwépemc, Secwépemcúl’ecw and Nłeʔkepmx Tmíxʷ (Nlaka’pamux) nations, colonially known as “kamloops, bc, canada”, and am thankful for the guidance of the 94 Calls to Action and the 231 Calls for Justice.

Counselling with Evren is usually covered by Blue Cross, Greenshield, Equitable Life and Sun Life extended health benefit plans. Please check with your insurer to verify. Depending on requirements, Evren is usually able to sign off on practicum or regulatory body supervision hours. Please check with Evren and your regulatory body or school to verify.
